At S&A Treasure Jewellery we handle our customers' information with great care. This privacy policy explains what information we collect about you in-store and online, how we may use it and the steps we take to ensure it is secure.
What information do we hold?
-We collect information such as your name, email and address when you create an account on this site.
-We collect contact details from you when you use a service such as repairs.
-With your permission, we collect details from you when you purchase a product or service, storing your sales or service history against your contact details.
-With your permission, we store your contact details for marketing purposes.
What do you do with that information? Purposes for processing data.
We will use the personal information gathered in our normal course of business primarily to provide the services, offers, or news you have requested, also for administrative purposes;
-Record keeping purposes
-To aid guarantee and warranty issues
-To process an order
-To produce our website and its contents
-To learn and improve our in-store offerings
-To confirm your identity when you contact us or collect an item
-To keep you informed of any news, offers or promotions that we believe might be of interest to you
-For the prevention of crime & fraud.
We may contact you by post, email or phone for these purposes.
In order to communicate about our products and services, we may work with a select group of organisations to carry out some processing activities on our behalf, such as mailing houses. In these circumstances, we will ensure that your information is protected and used in accordance with our privacy policy. We also have agreements in place that these third parties abide by GDPR. We may also disclose information to the investigating authorities such as the police, if required to do so. We never sell your data to anyone. Unless we have your permission, we won’t share your data with other companies such as insurance providers.
Our retention periods vary depending on the type of data. Card details from transactions are stored for 7 years, in accordance with UK laws/ tax legislation. Marketing permissions are checked a minimum of once a year, the exact time frame may be determined by the frequency of client visits. We have a process to identify and remove historical sales data- data is not stored indefinitely.
How we protect your information
We use all reasonable measures to safeguard the security of your personal information, including and not limited to firewalls, private database system, limited access, use of passwords as appropriate and antivirus software. Data is stored on our secure system and is accessible at the till point.
CCTV
CCTV is in place in our stores for security. The recordings are not shared with other parties, other than in the event of an incident. CCTV is retained for a maximum of 4 weeks.
Valuations
We may collect details such as your full name, phone number, email and in some cases address in order to complete a valuation for the purpose of insurance. All our valuations are written digitally on secure computers, and are deleted from our system 14 days after you receive them. Any physical paper copies are not stored with us, and if for some reason you are not able to collect the physical paper copy, the valuation will be shredded within 24 hours of the refusal.
Marketing
We may consider legitimate interests within our marketing policy. We may post to you if we have reason to believe that the content would be of legitimate interest. An example of this would be posting information on an event or promotion to a previous client.
When you opt in for marketing, we have been authorised by you to hold your data & can subsequently contact you by the methods agreed to, with information of events, promotions etc. You have the right to withdraw consent or change your preferences at any time. Our processes are in line with the GDPR legislation.
The personal information we collect about you can include your name, postal address, email address and phone number. If you make a purchase by card, we collect your card number & expiry date.

Online Competitions
Any personal data or information collected for the purpose of online competitions will be safely stored for the duration of the competition and until a winner has been successfully contacted by S&A Treasure Jewellery after which all personal data from competition entrants will be deleted.

If you believe we are storing details relating to you that are incorrect, please update us by contacting us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s independent authority relating to data privacy for individuals. Your rights to access your personal information and consent
You have the right to request a copy of the personal data that we hold on you. To obtain a copy, please call, write or email to our local store.
